Burger King global marketing chief steps down

Burger King global chief marketing officer Russ Klein has stepped down from his position following a leave of absence.

His resignation will be effective from 15 December. The company says Klein left for personal reasons, following a leave of absence in September.

Peter Robinson, Burger King’s former president of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) business will oversee global marketing in the interim while the fast food company searches for a replacement.

Robinson has worked previously in marketing roles with brands such as the Frito-Lay International Division of PepsiCo, Kraft General Foods and Procter & Gamble.

John W. Chidsey, Burger King Corp. chairman and CEO says: “Over the past several years, Russ has built and cultivated a strong marketing leadership team. I am confident that with Peter Robinson’s oversight of this team, combined with his extensive operations and marketing experience, BKC will continue to deliver compelling advertising, innovative promotions and exceptional products that we have become globally recognized for and our guests have come to expect.”
