…but wins Livingstone re-election task

London Mayor Ken Livingstone has appointed Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon UK Group (SSF UK) to work on his re-election campaign.

London Mayor Ken Livingstone has appointed Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon UK Group (SSF UK) to work on his re-election campaign.

The appointment will be the agency’s first task for the Labour Party.

The agency won the Labour Party’s advertising business in September, ahead of an expected November election, which has since been ditched by Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

SSF UK beat Beattie McGuinness Bungay, Profero and Albion to clinch the high profile advertising business.

SSF Group UK chief executive Robert Senior, who heads the Labour Party account, says: “The London election is an important staging post for the Labour party. We are looking forward to working with Ken and his team on his bid to win a third term as Mayor of London.”

The scope of the work has yet to be defined, though it is to begin imminently. The London Election will take place in May 2008. Ken Livingstone was elected Mayor of London on May 4, 2000 and subsequently re-elected on June 10, 2004.
