Cadbury added as London Olympics sponsor

Cadbury has been confirmed as a tier two sponsor of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The deal, worth at least £20m, will make the company official confectionary and ice cream supplier.

Cadbury can now use the London 2012 logo on its products and also has marketing rights to Team GB and Paralympic Team GB. During the Games, Cadbury will supply all confectionery and ice cream sold at Olympic venues and at Olympic Park.

Cadbury was previously supplier of the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. The company joins Deloitte as a second tier two “supporter”. Deloitte was announced as professional services supporter at the end of last year.

London 2012’s tier one partners, with an entry level of £40m, are BP, Adidas, British Airways, British telecom, EDF Energy and Lloyds TSB. The Organising Committee of the London 2012 Games (Locog) is seeking to raise £2bn in commercial revenue and hope to make £700m from its domestic partnership progamme.
