Cadbury Schweppes has appointed a new European brand director for Schweppes-branded soft drinks, replacing Paul Troy who left to join Lloyds TSB (MW July 2).
Pat Thomas, formerly research and information director for Africa, India, Middle East and Europe (AIMEE), has had his role extended and now takes responsibility for the Schweppes brand across Europe.
Thomas takes the new title of Schweppes brand director and information director for AIMEE. He will continue to report to David Alex-ander, vice-president of marketing for AIMEE.
The Schweppes brand will be at the centre of a new global branding campaign created by Young & Rubicam which is due to break in the UK next spring.
Up until August, when Y&R won a pitch for this 20m global branding account, the Schweppes brand was handled by creative agencies regionally.
Thomas says: “In my role as research manager for AIMEE, I was responsible for carrying out all the research for the global positioning and global advertising campaign for the Schweppes brand.”
In his new role Thomas will oversee the implementation of the global campaign for Schweppes in the AIMEE region. –
