Cadbury’s Crunchie bar given a marketing boost

Chocolate manufacturer Cadbury Trebor Bassett is launching a £1.6m national TV advertising campaign for Crunchie. The 30-second ad through Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper will feature comedian Marcus Brigstocke. It is the first execution in five years, and the first to feature non-animated characters. The ad will air on ITV, Channel 4 and satellite channels over three weeks from August 2. Brigstocke plays the part of a documentary-style presenter following the exploits of a football fan, who is munching a Crunchie bar while watching his team score a goal. Crunchie will also be supported by additional credits during the on-going Coronation Street and MTV Select sponsorships. As part of the promotional activity which Cadbury has planned for the autumn range, 10 million Crunchie bars will carry a free on-pack HMV music CD offer which can be traded in at HMV stores.
