Campbell Grocery Products is spending &£3m to launch a new soup-in-a-bottle range under its Homepride brand, which is making its debut in the soup sector.
The company has chosen to launch the one-litre bottles under the Homepride name because the brand is more closely associated with innovation. It will be available in four flavours: tomato, mushroom, chicken and Mediterranean Vegetable.
Soup is already available in packets through H J Heinz and cartons through the New Covent Garden Soup Company, but Homepride claims this is the first time soup will be available in a bottle.
The brand is being marketed as a convenience product for people with busy lifestyles, allowing consumers to reseal the bottle.
A Homepride spokesman says: “This innovative product fits perfectly with the mainstream Homepride brand.”
