Cancer Research seeks additional agency

Cancer Research UK is searching for an additional creative agency to deliver a high impact brand advertising campaign in 2009. The charity says Rapp, its direct marketing agency, is unaffected by the review.

Ogilvy, its agency for breast cancer awareness, and Mediacom, its media planning and buying agency, are also unaffected by the review.

Brand and PR director Carolan Davidge says: “Virtually everyone has heard of us and knows that we do research. Our work has been at the heart of the huge progress that has been made in treating cancer.

“But we can’t be complacent. Thousands of people still die of the disease every year. If we want to beat cancer, we need more research and more public support to fund it. We’re looking for an agency that will build on our successful track record, deepen public understanding and engagement with us and help support a challenging programme of income generation.”

Cancer Research is also reportedly looking for an agency for a joint anti-obesity project with Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.
