Consulting, technology and outsourcing group Capgemini has overhauled its marketing structure to exploit the growing demand from the public and private sector to improve efficiency.

The group has promoted former Marks & Spencer and Coca-Cola marketer Hilary Kelly to the newly created UK marketing and communications director role.

Kelly will head a team that will now cover all Capgemini’s service offerings in the UK. She will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategy, internal and external communications.

The recession has highlighted the need for cost-cutting by improving efficiencies in the private sector, while the deficit and subsequent spending cuts have increased the need to save money in the public sector.

Kelly says: “In an age when public and private sector organisations are looking for the best and most cost-effective solutions across technology, consulting and outsourcing, it makes sense to market all our services in a cohesive and impactful way, and that is the challenge I am looking forward to addressing.”

She steps up from her role as head of the marketing consulting team at Capgemini. Before joining Capgemini, Kelly was commercial director of Tesco subsidiary and customer relations specialist Dunnhumby.

Kelly will lead a 20-strong team of marketing and communications professionals and manage external agencies.
