Middlesborough fans are getting free travel to their Capital One Cup tie away to Swansea.

Capital One is providing travelling fans with free coaches to South Wales as a reward for being drawn away from home 12 consecutive times in the tournament.

The last time the club were given a home advantage in the tournament was in August 2008 when they beat Yeovil Town 5-1.

Michael Woodburn, chief marketing officer at Capital One, says: “Boro’s run of away games is unprecedented in the history of the competition, and as the sponsor of the Capital One Cup we wanted to reward their loyal fans for yet another journey on the road.”

Capital One signed a four-year deal to replace Molson Coors’ Carling brand as the League Cup sponsors in June. The financial firm is using the deal to build its brand profile in the UK.

It launched a TV campaign in partnership with Sky earlier this year to showcase its sponsorship and is also planning ticket promotions on social networks and football-related mobile campaigns for existing customers.
