Capital Radio reshuffles network directors’ roles

Capital Radio Group has restructured the senior management of its regional FM network and smaller brands. It is understood that the moves are a continuation of the management changes made last year following the departure of Andria Vidler, the former FM network managing director (MW July 31, 2003).

The reshuffle sees Capital Gold network managing director Lyn Long promoted to managing director of Capital Group’s regional network. She will take over from John O’Hara, who had been managing and programme director for the network since last August, but will now focus on programming.

It is understood that Capital FM network marketing director Carl Lyons will now focus on 95.8 Capital FM. Eirwen Parker, former head of marketing for Capital’s Welsh station Red Dragon, will now handle marketing for the regional network.

Xfm managing director Graham Bryce has had his role extended to include responsibility for the Capital Gold Network and Choice FM. It is understood that Bryce will focus on developing the brands nationally on digital radio.

Last summer, operations director Paul Davies took over responsibility for 95.8 Capital FM and group programming director Keith Pringle also moved to focus on the London station, after Vidler was ousted.
