Carbon Trust splits media buying account

The Carbon Trust has appointed Carat and Universal McCann to handle its media buying. The account been split with Carat taking online and outdoor media and Universal McCann buying its TV, press, radio, cinema and sponsorship.

The Government agency, which works with businesses to help them reduce their carbon emissions, says the contract will be in place for the next 12 months with an option to extend for a further 12 months.

Carbon Trust marketing director Peter Hambly says: “The issue of climate change is top of the agenda for business and consumers today which holds some exciting challenges and opportunities for the Carbon Trust and our delivery partners.”

Last month the trust appointed Manning Gottlieb OMD as lead media planning agency and Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest to create advertising campaigns for the coming year.

The appointments follow statutory review of its £50m advertising and communications roster, which was kicked off last year.
