Carex campaign piggy backs NHS hygiene ads

Carex, the handwash brand, is launching a press campaign in the wake of the NHS hygiene advertising designed to help halt the spread of swine flu.

The PZ Cussons brand has adapted the NHS campaign strapline “Catch it. Bin it. Kill it” and produced an ad reading “Caught it? Binned it? Now kill it with Carex.”

The ad has been created by TBWAManchester and runs throughout the national press.

Senior brand manager Carex Vicki Brunning says: “The campaign actively supports a hugely important government health drive throughout the UK and as the leading brand within the hand wash sector, we wanted to get behind this, particularly at such a crucial time.”

Retailers of anti-bacterial hand gels, soaps and tissues are experiencing a sales surge following the NHS campaign and Superdrug reports sales of antibacterial handwashing products up 70% for the seven days to May 4.

TBWAManchester also works on PZ Cussons brands Imperial Leather and Original Source.
