Channel 4 drops 4iP in restructure

Channel 4 is axing its digital investment arm 4iP as part of a restructure to merge Channel 4 Online with its content and commissioning division.

Channel 4 announced in June that it was restructuring its digital team to integrate it into a single cross-platform commissioning team.

It has now announced that the restructure will see 4iP dropped and its current investments managed by Channel 4’s Corporate Development team, under the management of Channel 4 director of creative diversity Stuart Cosgrove.

Cosgrove, said, “Digital innovation is critical to our vision of Channel 4 as a converged creative business and working with the most talented new digital companies is paramount. As an organisation we are now much clearer about how to use digital media to deliver our unique creative remit with even greater impact. 4iP’s integration across Channel 4 means that digital innovation and regional talent development will be placed at the heart of the business.

All other digital activity will be merged into the content and commissioning division, managed by Richard Davidson-Houston, who was appointed as Channel 4 head of online in July this year.
