Sacla, the Italian food brand, has appointed Chick Smith Trott to handle its £4m advertising account. The agency won the business after a four-way pitch against Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy, Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest and Farm. The brand previously worked with Farm on a project basis.
It is understood the brand is keen to develop a more contemporary feel and the agency is now working on a brand campaign, expected to include television, which will break early next year.
Sacla makes a range of ambient pasta and pesto sauces, and earlier this year it launched a three-strong range of chilled pasta sauces. It is part of a wider strategy by the company to extend the brand into new categories.
