Chorion bolsters marketing team for US push

Chorion, the brand licensing company that owns the rights to Noddy, has strengthened its marketing team ahead of a major push into the US.

The company, which also owns the rights to the works of Agatha Christie, has moved Lori Heiss, the head of marketing in the US, to the same role in Europe and has appointed Monika Salazar to replace her. Salazar, who will have the title of vice president for marketing US, joins from Viz Media in San Francisco, where she was director of brand marketing. She has also held a variety of marketing roles across the entertainment and fast food sectors.

It has also appointed Pamela Ferris as vice president for licensing. She joins from New York-based GT Brands, where she was head of licensing and consumer products.

The changes to the marketing team follow Chorion’s acquisition of New York based Silver Lining Productions, which will specialise in developing and producing TV content using Chorion’s stable of brands. Both Ferris and Salazar will be based in the New York office and will report to Jane Turner, head of the literary estate.

Salazar and Ferris have a brief to develop Chorion’s literary portfolio in the US.
