CIA appoints global chief executive

CIA has appointed chief executive of CIA Europe, Mainardo de Nardis, as its first worldwide chief executive.

De Nardis will now be in charge of all of CIA’s regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa and the US. He will remain at CIA’s offices in London.

In his new role, de Nardis will continue to report to Chris Ingram, chairman of CIA’s parent company Tempus, and David Reich, chairman of CIA and chief executive of Tempus.

De Nardis says his first task will be to create a worldwide board for CIA. He adds: “I will be looking to create much more cohesive standards across the four continents. They need to work much more closely together.”

All the regions have now been united under one brand called CIA Worldwide. The head of each country will now report directly to de Nardis. De Nardis says he will keep his European role as part of his remit for the time being, but has not decided if he needs to be replaced directly.

De Nardis joined CIA in 1993 when CIA bought Medianetwork – the Italian agency of which he was a partner. He moved from Milan to London to take up the role of European managing director and was promoted to European chief executive in 1998.
