Citroen offers green health checks for cars

Citroen is launching a “Stay Green” health check to help its customers reduce their carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. For £29.99, the marque’s technicians will perform a series of tests aimed at keeping emission levels and fuel consumption to a minimum.

Citroen is one of the few car companies to promote its green credentials in its TV advertising and says the Stay Green scheme is “part of our continued drive to minimise the environmental impact of our vehicles”.

Checks on the fuel and engine management systems will ensure that the fuel mix is at the correct level, while the braking system will be tested to make sure that fuel is not being unnecessarily wasted. The technicians will also offer owners of any Citroen vehicle advice on how to reduce the impact of their vehicle on the environment.

The launch follows a similar initiative unveiled by Kwik-Fit earlier this year (MW September 20). “Go Green” – which Kwik-Fit claims is the UK’s first “green” car service – costs an extra £29 on top of the price of an interim or full service but includes a number of extra checks and enhancements that the company says make cars more environmentally friendly.
