Clear Channel scoops Glasgow ad contract

Clear Channel Outdoor UK has been awarded the contract to supply and maintain street furniture in Glasgow. The contract includes more than 300 advertising panels on freestanding units and 200 map and information panels and signposts.

The contract is aligned to the company’s other street furniture contracts in Edinburgh and Aberdeen and sees Clear Channel dominate the six-sheet market in Scotland.

Clear Channel UK chief executive Barry Sayer says the company will develop an integrated street furniture strategy in Glasgow in line with “the topography and character of the city”.

This latest deal comes after the company was awarded a contract to build bespoke architectural structures at ten gateway locations across the city. These structures to house large-format backlit displays at key sites such as Castle Street, Barrhead Road and Anniesland Cross.

Clear Channel now holds more than 350 municipal contracts in the UK including the £250m contract for bus shelters in London, the largest street furniture advertising account in the UK.
