Allen will head up a new team to “more aggressively” promote the group’s five main companies. The businesses that work in the care home sector are Ideal Care Homes, LNT Construction, CoolBlue Software and Basic Solutions while the group also owns Ginetta, which builds road and racing sports cars.

Allen will develop a streamlined new look for all of the five brands and in some cases a new name. He will also work at uniting them under the LNT Group banner.

Allen is part of the team that developed the Co-Ops “Blowin’ in the Wind” brand campaign. He left in July this year after completing a restructure of the marketing department.

The restructure saw The Co-op food businesses buying and marketing teams merged under a single leadership. A number of senior marketing roles such as director of food retail marketing, head of brand, head of identity and standards development, head of customer strategy and head of brand communications were axed.

The Leeds-based LNT group is, owned by UK entrepreneur Lawrence Tomlinson.
