A new TV ad (below) features a montage of iconic Coca-Cola ads and imagery from the past century and is soundtracked with “I’d like to teach the world to sing”, the song that featured in its famous “hilltop” campaign in the 1970s.

Coca-Cola packaging will carry 125th anniversary artwork and a limited edition glass bottle range will be available to buy at Selfridges.

Outdoor “special builds” will also feature as part of the campaign, with five 3D giant glass bottle replicas fitted with bubble machines appearing at busy consumer sites.

Coke Zone will also launch a “Retro Poster Maker”, where fans can superimpose themselves into retro Coca-Cola ads and have the opportunity to have their image featured on the Piccadilly sign.

Coca-Cola employees will join the campaign on 9 May by handing out free bottles of the drink to members of the public in London.

The Coca-Cola Co. is the world’ largest beverage company and sells roughly 1.7 billion drinks globally every day. In the UK, Coca Cola take-home sales rose 8.3% year-on-year to £1.09bn in 2010 and grew 2.5% in volume to about 1.1 billion litres in in the same period.
