Converse is looking to strengthen its pan-European advertising and media strategies by creating its first brand communications director role for the region.

The role will oversee all Converse brand communications across the EMEA region and will take responsibility for advertising, design, brand development, digital, PR and direct communication with consumers.

It has previously focused its marketing and brand strategy on its connections to music and is currently running a Facebook app campaign inviting fans to design and their own Converse shoes and sell them via Fcommerce to their friends in a bid to “make shopping a relevant part of fans interactions with the brand on Facebook”.

The footwear brand claims it is one of the fastest growing footwear brands and that its Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker is the number one shoe sold worldwide.
