Cooper and Dyke share a nose for sport

The Diary couldn’t help but notice the stunning resemblance between BBC director general in waiting Greg Dyke and great-smell-of-Brut Henry Cooper.

Both are lovers of sport, one was British heavyweight champion for a decade, while the other is a football lover and Manchester United supporter.

But differences on other matters convince the Diary that these two were not separated at birth.

Dyke, a former union militant, probably has little in common with former Lloyd’s name Cooper. And as to whether Dyke splashes it all over like Cooper does, we doubt it. He doesn’t look like an aftershave man to us. But if you know otherwise let us know. Prizes include a bottle of Brut and a picture of Dyke foe William Hague.
