Costa carried off the Brand of the Year trophy at the event. It triumphed over tough competition and won overwhelming praise from a panel made up of experienced marketers and agency chiefs for its total commitment across the business to driving sales and awareness. Costa was applauded for “brave thinking in a market dominated by other brands”.

The packed out event at the Grosvernor House Hotel, hosted by TV and radio personality Chris Evans, brought together the best and brightest in marketing from across all its disciplines, together with their suppliers, for a fantastic industry ceremony and party.

Other prestigious awards handed out included Brand Innovator, which went to Fiat for its eco:Drive campaign, described as “the definition of engaging” by judges.

The Rising Star award, last year won by former Innocent Drinks brand manager Gemma Howells, was handed to Sam Barnett of Struq. The company has developed software that helps clients maximise return of investment for online advertising.

And Karmarama carried off Agency of the Year after triumphing in a fiercely fought category.

The Engage Awards recognise outstanding innovation, engagement and return on investment across the marketing sectors and disciplines. This year a record number of entries were submitted for the awards, with the evening itself established as the premier party and networking event for the industry.
