Holsten UK has hired Sandy Corstorphine, sales director at Scottish Courage-owned Scottish Brewers, to be its new managing director.
The tit-for-tat move follows last week’s news that Scottish Courage had lured Holsten UK’s managing director, Joe Beardwood, to be marketing director of its take home operation called Scottish Courage Brands.
Beardwood will be responsible for trade marketing to supermarket and off-licence chains and independents. He will have to come to grips with the vast brand portfolio that includes both Scottish & Newcastle brands and Courage brands.
Corstorphine has been sales director at Scottish Brewers for two years. The company is Scottish Courage’s wholesale arm for the free trade in Scotland. Corstorphine joins Holsten as it launches the latest executions for Holsten Pils in its Denis Leary campaign through GGT.
The brand is jostling for position with Budweiser as the UK’s best-selling premium lager.
