Courtaulds names Puma marketer as MD

Courtaulds, owner of the Gossard and Berlei lingerie brands, has appointed former Puma UK marketer Tony Jarvis as managing director of both brands.

Gossard

Jarvis is a former sales and marketing director for lingerie company Triumph UK. Prior to this role, he was Sales and Marketing Director of Puma UK and he comes to Courtaulds from Kenneth Turner UK where he was Managing Director.

He replaces Sue Clague and will continue with the ongoing process of differentiating the Gossard and Berlei brands to build market share. Courtaulds bought the brands from DBApparel in 2007.

DBApparel owns the bra brands Playtex, Wonderbra and Shock Absorber.

Jarvis says: “Differentiating the {Courtaulds} brands is already proving successful with sales up considerably on the same time last year. With Gossard the emphasis is on glamour whereas with Berlei the focus is on comfort and fit.”

Initiative has appointed to handle media planning and buying for Gossard after a pitch last year.
