Courtney%20LoveUS rock artist Courtney Love’s new album is to be sponsored to the tune of £30m by a “prominent tequila brand” and a “feminine menstrual/hygiene” company. The news of the deals with the unnamed sponsors was announced on Love’s Myspace page.

Fans had expected the album, Nobody’s Daughter, to be launched on New Year’s Day after hints made by Love in a recent Elle magazine interview. However, it has now been delayed by “paranormal technical issues” in the studio, according to the announcement attributed to the singer’s unnamed Myspace “administrator.”

The announcement, addressed to fans, says Love will keep them updated on the album’s progress, which is described as “true perfection” and “smashing”. The album will be the former Hole frontwoman and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain widow’s first studio album in five years.

Love has yet to confirm how these sponsorships will work in practice, and whether the deals mean album will be available as a free download.
