Cunning Stunts goes into liquidation

Cunning Stunts Communications, the UK stunt-based agency launched almost 12 years ago, has been forced to close its doors after failing to meet debts.

Its co-founders, Anna Carloss and John Carver, say the agency has been badly “hit by the recession”. However, they will continue to operate their experiential agency, Cunning Communications which has a presence in the UK and the US.

Its New York-based office is known as Cunning Inc and is run by managing director, Mark Voysey.

Cunning Stunts was famed for launching high-profile stunts including projecting a nude image of Gail Porter on to the Houses of Parliament as part of a campaign for FHM magazine.

Carver says it is now looking to grow the global footprint of Cunning and it is currently negotiating joint ventures with communications and event companies in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.

Last week, Intelligent Marketing, which specialised in DM and digital, was forced to go into liquidation less than seven years after launching.

It is understood that the agency fell victim to pressures of the worsening economic climate. Its clients included Diageo, Lufthansa Airlines and HSBC.
