Da Vinci Code prequel signs deal with Mail on Sunday
Sony Pictures has signed a deal with The Mail on Sunday to launch a five-page cover wrap to promote the film Angels & Demons, the prequel to The Da Vinci Code.
The wrap, which will cover the second section of the newspaper this weekend (10 May) will feature interactive elements such as a puzzle based around the mystery-thriller set in Rome.
Readers will be invited to solve four questions relating to the accompanying map of the city of Rome. They will then be directed online to solve the fifth and final question in no more than three minutes, in order to be in with a chance to win a trip to Rome.
The cover wrap was created internally by Associated Newspapers’ creative solutions team. It forms part of a wider marketing campaign promoting the movie that takes in television and outdoor ads.
Stuart Williams, deputy managing director and marketing director of Sony Pictures Releasing UK, says: “The overall media campaign has been constructed to convey both the stature and event nature of the films release and the cover wrap on The Mail on Sunday 2 [section] reflects and amplifies this positioning.”
Angels & Demons is based on the best-selling book by Dan Brown. The movie once more stars Tom Hanks as Dr Robert Langdon and opens in cinemas across the UK from 14 May.
