Daewoo to launch white goods range

Daewoo Electronics UK is planning to enter the UK white goods market this year with a range of “revolutionary” washing machines and refrigerators.

According to sales and marketing director Clyde Roberts, the washing machines have a number of features that set them apart from rivals.

Roberts says they can wash effectively with pure cold water, use less detergent than any other machines – and less electricity – because the clothes are agitated by air bubble jets rather than a rotating drum. The machines also have a dry cleaning function, which means consumers can put items such as suits into them.

The products have launched successfully in the Far East, US, South America, eastern Europe, Germany, France and Spain.

The three UK models will sell for between ú399 and ú599.

Daewoo Electronics uses Ideas Pictures and Words for creative work and The Media Business for media buying.
