Daryl Fielding to leave Kraft

Daryl Fielding, Kraft’s top marketer, is to leave the food company after two and half years, prompting a reshuffle that sees Chrystel Barranger appointed to the newly created role of vice president for snacking and marketing services.

Fielding, who joined the Zurich-based Kraft Foods Europe in January 2010 as vice president of marketing, is to return to the UK. It is not known if she has a job to go to.

Her marketing services responsibilities will be taken on by Barranger, currently vice president for biscuits marketing, who will add oversight of the snacks brands such as Oreo and Cadbury.

Prior to Kraft, Fielding was commercial director of The Independent and The Independent on Sunday. She has also had stints at several advertising agencies, including Ogilvy, where she is said to have overseen Dove’s “Campaign for Real Beauty”.

Fielding says: “This was a very difficult decision for me because I have enjoyed working on the incredible brands within the Kraft Foods portfolio……I’ve enjoyed my two years in Zurich, however, I feel that my home and future career lies from a UK base and I intend to return there in the summer.”

Barranger joined Kraft in 1993 and has held several senior marketing positions. She is credited with steering an upturn in the performance of French biscuit brand LU.
