Dennis acquires technology website

Dennis Publishing has acquired gaming website bit-tech.net as part of a move bolster its technology portfolio. It already owns iGizmo, PC Pro, knowyourmobile.com and itpro.co.uk.

Bit-tech.net, which was launched in 2001, publishes in-depth reviews, news, features and technology information, while also hosting a forum for its growing audience of computer and gaming enthusiasts. The site claims to attract over 1.05 million unique users and generates 6.6 million page impressions per month.

The entire editorial, advertising and development team will become Dennis Publishing employees and will continue to work at its Ascot premises. They will report to Barry Cronin, publishing director of the digital technology portfolio at Dennis. Hugh Chappell, managing director of Bit Publishing will join Dennis Publishing on a consultancy basis.
