Chris Woollams, the former chairman of the collapsed WMGO agency has re-emerged as head of his own company. Woollams was ousted from WMGO last March (MW March 31) five months before it went into voluntary receivership (MW August 25). He has launched The Woollams Outsourcing company (TWO), which will act as a broker for clients seeking freelance creative or planning support. Woollams says he will pull together teams for specific clients which do not want to be tied to full-service agencies.

Budget Rent a Car is believed to be looking for an agency to handle its 1.6m through-the-line account.

Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO has bought PR company Fishburn Hedges Boys Williams for an initial payment of 4m.

Bozell Worldwide has won the 10m advertising and public relations account for US software provider Bellcore. Bozell will be responsible for brand and product launch advertising and media buying and placement.

Alan Taylor, managing director of Nintendo marketer THE, has officially left the company. A statement describes his departure as being by “mutual agreement”.

Aviator and John Ayling & Associates have been chosen by London Transport to create an integrated campaign and buy media for the launch of three new types of ticket.

Jordans Cereals (right) has drawn up a shortlist for its account, which is worth more than 500,000. The list includes the incumbent, Osprey Park.

Ian Haworth, PPHN founder and former creative partner of breakaway agency Touch, has joined Option One as creative director. He leaves Touch as the firm goes into liquidation.

Reports from the US suggest that Apple Computer is planning a global review of BBDO Worldwide, following the appointment of new vice president, corporate marketing Satjiv Chahil.

The Department of Trade & Industry has appointed Team Saatchi for a campaign to increase awareness about the information superhighway. The budget has still to be decided.
