RTL has been fined DM19m (6.7m) by a Hanover court for exceeding permitted advertising levels during the screening of over 30 films between October 1993 and June 1994. The company will appeal.

Mustang, the jeans brand, has moved its advertising from Leonhardt & Kern, Stuttgart, to RSY, New York. The decision follows the award of an international cinema campaign to RSY last March.

The Euro Effie awards this year will be given out at a ceremony in Paris on October 17. Effie schemes run in several European countries and are designed to reward effective advertising campaigns. The entry deadline for this year is July 20.

Spanish yogurt makers, including Danone and Yoplait, are to launch a joint campaign to educate consumers and differentiate their brands from the pasteurised products of competitors such as Leche Pascual…

Ferrero is to use Sophia Loren as international spokeswoman in advertising for its Gran Caffè dessert, currently on test in various locations around Europe.

Young & Rubicam and Serviceplan will contest the final pitch for Viag’s DM20m (7m) E2 phone account in Germany. BBDO, Lowe & Partners and Scholz & Friends all failed to get through the first round.

SelberMachen, the German DIY magazine, has launched in the Czech Republic under the title ‘Udelej Si Sám’. The title is now available in ten countries, including Greece and Poland.
