ClearScore

Only 20% of UK consumers know their credit score, according to Conlumino and Affinion International, yet it is pivotal in securing competitive finance or even a home or job.

ClearScore has set out to change this by enabling free credit score checks. The company uses technology and data to enable consumers to take more control of their finances, as well as offering tailored money-saving suggestions for financial products.

Based in London, ClearScore was co-founded in 2014 by Justin Basini, who also founded data protection company Allow; Nigel Morris, co-founder of Capital One; and Dan Cobley, former managing director of Google UK.

ClearScore has partnered with Equifax to deliver the credit reports and score data, and with TotallyMoney.com to provide the product matching service. The company has more than 1.4 million registered users and was crowned startup of the year and innovation of the year at the Fintech Innovation Awards in April 2016.
