Codec’s content intelligence platform lets any company see what content an audience wants it to make, before it has to make it.

Brands and publishers such as Unilever and the BBC use AI and machine learning to capture insights from billions of pieces of third-party videos, images and text content. It then generates intuitive recommendations that can be used by creatives and strategists to help inspire ideas and make planning decisions.

Founder Tom Graham says: “There are no tools out there that answer the question ‘What content should I make to be relevant to my target tribe?’ At Codec, we find a way to bring this data and information to marketers and creatives, not just data analysts.” Founded in 2015 by Martin Adams and Graham, Codec is backed by early stage venture fund 500 Startups and has raised $3m (£2.31m) to date.
