Dispatch is the robot delivery vehicle company that was founded in 2015 by Stav Braun, Sonia Jin and Uriah Baalke, computer vision researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and University of Pennsylvania.

The company has developed Carry, a self-driving delivery vehicle that has so far been used in pilot programmes on university campuses. The robot can carry up to 100lbs and travels along pavements at around 3mph.

It has four compartments that users can unlock with their smartphones on arrival. The company hopes the vehicles will increase delivery efficiency by taking packages to customers’ doors. Dispatch plans to sell access to its Carry vehicles and charge for their use. In April 2016, the company secured $2m (£1.4m) in seed financing led by Andreessen Horowitz.
