Henchman

This app promises to deliver items from any shop or restaurant in London in an hour or less and claims its fastest delivery was a McDonald’s takeaway, which arrived at the customer’s door in six minutes.

It works using software to identify the best location and driver for the particular job and charges up to £19.95 for delivery, charged to a card or paid for via PayPal.

The organisation was launched in 2015 by Ingmaras Keleras, Henchman’s chief technology officer, who sold his first tech business at the age of 16; graphic designer Dihan Algama; and former cardio surgeon Ryan Perera.

It describes itself as “the family”, and the app shares 10% to 30% of order values with vendors. It is recruiting for delivery drivers, who wear black uniforms with red ties, and it plans to expand to Manchester to help it reach its targets of 1,000 deliveries per day.
