Influx Data

Influx Data deals with the influx of timebased data companies have to cope with in the age of the internet of things. The problem for most companies is that they have been constructed around departmental priorities but the digital economy requires sharing of data that legacy systems will not allow.

Speaking to news site SD Times, Influx Data’s CEO Evan Kaplan said: “Traditional monitoring solutions are siloed and stretched to breaking point as they can’t handle the diversity and volume of metrics and events. A unified monitoring layer is key to identifying patterns, controlling complex systems and turning insight into action.”

The company boasts “thousands of open source users”, according to Crunchbase, and clients include eBay and Barclays.

Founders Todd Persen and Paul Dix secured a total of $24.9m (£19m) equity funding, bringing expertise from their former startup Errplane, which monitored web application performance.
