Over 20 million people globally rely on local travel app Moovit to access live public transport arrival and departure times, updated line schedules, local station maps and service alerts.

The data comes from schedule-based transport information from local public transport agencies, combined with real-time details from fellow travellers. The app is available in more than 600 cities around the world, including all major cities in the UK.

Moovit was founded in Israel in 2012 by Nir Erez, also founder and CEO of ActionBase and Eyron Software Solutions; Roy Bick,  a former software engineer at Motorola; and Yaron Evron, who also owns a civil engineering company.

Moovit has raised over $80m (£55.3m) to date. It is growing at a rate of over one million users a month. Moovit has just launched a partnership with Uber in 131 cities across 22 countries, allowing people to plan journeys using buses, trains, bike-sharing services and Uber.
