Coffee subscription service Pact delivers freshly roasted coffee in letterbox-friendly packages by first class post.

The British Coffee Association claims 70 million cups of coffee are consumed each day in Britain. Entrepreneur Stephen Rapoport – co-founder of crashpadder.com, acquired by Airbnb in 2012 – set up the business to tap this demand.

Customers are able to choose from a large selection of coffee from a regularly updated menu and the company also recommends different coffees based on variables such as brewing preference. Pact’s headquarters is in Bermondsey, south London, where its coffee is also roasted.

The company trades directly with farmers worldwide and commits to paying at least 25% more than Fairtrade prices. Pact has attracted venture capitalist and angel funding totalling more than £5.6m.
