Pana

This travel app was first launched in 2014 with a focus on its paid subscription service for individuals needing a 24/7 travel concierge. However, in late 2016 it shifted its focus, becoming a free service to compete with the likes of TripIt and Google Trips. Designed to organise both leisure and business travellers’ plans, it enables people to access detailed trip information, even offline.

Travellers connect their email inbox to Pana, or forward their travel plans as they arrive. Pana automatically pieces together each trip by organising each booking, including flights, hotels, restaurant reservations and car rentals, which are placed into a live itinerary. Users can also collaborate on the trip with family and friends via the app.

Its founders are University of Colorado graduates Sam Felsenthal, Devon Tivona and Lianne Haug. So far it has raised a total of $1.45m (£1.1m) in two funding rounds, with investors including Techstars Ventures, 500 Startups and FG Angels.
