Pendo

Founded in 2013 in North Carolina, Pendo helps companies to better understand how customers engage with and use their software products. By capturing usage analytics and customer feedback via in-app messaging, companies can identify common problems encountered by people using their software.

Organisations use Pendo to gather feedback and provide contextual help inside their applications. Pendo monitors how users interact with software via a subscription-based cloud service, with the aim of improving software experiences.

The company was co-founded by software developer Todd Olson, former head of products and strategy at Cisco Rahul Jain, former Red Hat engineer Erik Troan, and entrepreneur Eric Boduch.

It has raised $33.25m (£25.7m) in five rounds, with investors including Battery Ventures, Contour Venture Partners and Core Capital Partners. Pendo’s customer count has grown by a factor of 30 in two years while recurring revenues have grown by 400% over the past 12 months. Current clients include Coupa, FICO, Infor, Optimizely and Rapid7.
