Poq

Having coined the term ‘app commerce’, London-based Poq has notched up an impressive list of retail clients since launching in 2011, including Missguided, Radley, Liberty and House of Fraser.

The company provides a platform for retailers to build apps and a content management system that allows those apps to be managed centrally.

Native apps can be cost-prohibitive and become quickly outdated, but as Poq rolls out new code every week and performs quarterly platform updates, apps are never out-of-date.

The venture capitalist-backed company was co-founded by Oyvind Henriksen, previously chief technology officer at ecommerce agency InCreo; Michael Langguth, founder of an online platform for housing in the Netherlands; Jun Seki, who has a background in software engineering; and Mike Hann, who previously consulted multichannel retailers at ChannelAdvisor.

Poq works on a software-as-a-service basis and charges an annual subscription fee.
