Hundreds of hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, testament to the way media production has changed, but brands have struggled to tap into this shift, finding it hard to commission and curate professional video content from the public.

Seenit is an app designed to bridge this divide, letting brands crowdsource video content by sending out briefs and example videos to their audience and employees.

Once users have captured video, brands can review and edit the content in the online studio before disseminating it via social channels.

The London-based company was founded in January 2014 by Emily Forbes, a film graduate of Chelsea College of Art, who attracted the first injection of seed capital from marketing and advertising accelerator Collider.

The company’s clients have included The FA, Bacardi and British Athletics and its revenues grew five times from year one to two.
