ZeroDB

Selected as part of Accenture’s 2016 FinTech Innovation Lab, ZeroDB was launched in March 2015 by MacLane Wilkison, a software engineer and former investment banker at Morgan Stanley, and Michael Egorov, also a software engineer, who previously worked on infrastructure tools at LinkedIn.

Headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in London and New York, the company specialises in the hot area of big data security, providing end-to-end encryption for databases.

ZeroDB allows companies to use cloud services with greater control, security and privacy, meaning the data on the server is always encrypted: at rest, in transit, and in use.

Data encryption, decryption and compression are also carried out at the clients’ end, eliminating the risk of a server-side data breach.

The product is aimed at software-as-a-service (SaaS) and cloud service providers, as well as companies in the financial services industry, healthcare, government agencies, media companies and telecoms. ZeroDB is funded by Tier 1 Silicon Valley investors.
