DoH appoints Profero to anti-obesity digital brief

The Department of Health (DoH) has appointed Profero to handle the digital component of its £75m anti-obesity initiative. The pitch, which was overseen by COI, is believed to have included Euro 4D, Anorack, Lida and The Grand Union.

The appointment is part of the Government’s “Healthy Weight, Healthy Lives” strategy, in which £75m will be spent over a three-year period until 2011 on an integrated marketing programme (MW January 25).

In May, the DoH appointed Manning Gottleib OMD to the communications planning role, following a pitch against Carat, Mediaedge:cia and Naked.

M&C Saatchi was awarded the advertising brief later that month. It pitched against VCCP, Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO and Weiden & Kennedy.

EHS Brann was later appointed to handle to DM component (MW.co.uk May 29). The agency won the business following a pitch against Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel, Tullo Marshall Warren and Partners Andrews Aldridge.
