Domino’s promotes Moore to deputy chief executive

Domino’s Pizza UK and Ireland has promoted former sales and marketing director Chris Moore to deputy chief executive. He takes over the role immediately.

Moore, who was promoted to chief operating officer in 2005, was also recently given board-level responsibility for the company’s three product “commissaries”. He oversees a number of areas for the pizza delivery chain including training and operations, the strategic development of its e-Commerce and sales, and marketing division.

He joined the company in 1990 to set-up Domino’s European marketing department, which covered France, Holland, Belgium, Spain as well as the UK and Ireland. Since 1993, following the acquisition of the brand franchise by the Halpern brothers, he has focused full-time on the UK and Ireland. He was appointed to the board in 1998.

Moore has been the driving force behind many of the company’s innovations such as ordering over interactive TV and online.

The company announced his promotion as it reported its results for the year to 31 December. It reported a 9.7% increase in like-for-like sales for the period.
