DreamWorks’ ‘Kung Fu Panda’ to appear in Super Bowl courtesy of Wix

DreamWorks’ upcoming movie ‘Kung Fu Panda’ is to be promoted in the Super Bowl this year courtesy of website building platform Wix.

The campaign, dubbed #StartStunning, will features characters from the movie looking to boost awareness of one of their businesses. They try a number of “out of the box” marketing activities before realising that the key to success is to build a website using Wix.

Dreamworks is not paying for the spot, which can cost up to $5m for a 30-second ad, with Wix stumping up the money. The campaign launches today (13 January) with a trailer for the main ad. The rest of the creative will be unveiled on a dedicated Super Bowl hub

“The Super Bowl is a hug stage and all brands play offense to score big and win viewers’ attention. Collaborating with a creative leader like DreamWorks Animation enabled us to develop a fun and effective campaign that will give us an edge come Super Bowl Sunday,” explains Wix CMO Omer Shai.
