EDF reappoints MPG

EDF Energy has reappointed Media Planning Group to handle its media planning and buying account in the UK and France.

MPG retained the account after a competitive pitch thought to involve Mindshare, ZenithOptimedia and PHD. The agency has held the account since 2008.

The energy provider called a statutory review of its media agencies last April. .

The review was led from EDF Energy’s headquarters in France.

EDF Energy’s advertising agency is Euro RSCG.

The energy provider has been running a campaign focusing on its green credentials, which has featured TV ads using recycled clips, most recently from the Superman TV and film series.

EDF Energy is the official “sustainability partner” of the 2012 Olympic Games and is ramping up its marketing activity surrounding the sponsorship.
