EHS Brann wins Hastings Insurance pitch

Hastings Insurance Services has appointed EHS Brann Cirencester to handle its direct marketing and brand positioning following a pitch.

The integrated agency will work across Hastings portfolio of brands, which include Hastings Direct and Hastings Essential. The brief also covers Insure Pink and Insure Blue, Hastings’ brands created to support cancer sufferers.

The agency has developed a strategy with the aim of emphasising the “personal nature” of Hastings’ approach to both its customers and of its staff when dealing with customers.

As part of the pitch process, EHS Brann developed through-the-line campaigns featuring long-standing brand character “Harry Hastings” and cost-effective ways of raising public awareness of the Pink & Blue brands.

The appointment comes three months after Hastings Direct named British Gas marketer Mathew Shepherd as trading director to head the group’s sales and marketing function with the aim of developing its customer base.

The insurance firm was recently the subject of a management buyout of previous owners Insurance Australia Group, who had acquired the firm in 2006.

EHS Brann Cirencester, part of the Euro RSCG network, has developed a number of campaigns for car brand Volvo in the last three months including a B2C direct mail pack to push the car marque’s DRIVe range last month and a major marketing push in December aimed at driving customers into its dealerships.
